How to Help

There are more than 1,500 homeless families in the City of Boston. Never in the history of this agency has there been a greater need for services for homeless families. The good news is that there are several ways that you can help.

FamilyAid Boston relies on volunteers for a variety of work as we strive to end the crisis of family homelessness in Boston. Visit our Volunteer page to see a list of current needs.

Employment for Homeless Families

As our families seek to enter or re-enter the workforce, they offer employers not only the chance to hire an eager new worker but also the opportunity to help a parent or child become a more productive, self-sufficient member of society.

The Employment Services team works closely with employers to ensure prescreened referrals of eligible candidates who are ready, willing, and able to go to work and do a good job.  We can help you find and process a motivated, well-qualified applicant who will become an asset to your business. We are also invested in helping your new employee continue to grow and become more valuable.

If you are an employer with an opening and you’re interested in helping change a life, please contact Mark McCurdy, Strategic Partnerships & Employment Manager at 617-542-7286 X266 or We would love to partner with you and help meet your hiring needs!
