Please consider making an emergency donation to FamilyAid Boston’s COVID-19 Emergency Campaign so we can continue to provide the children and families in our care with the services and supplies they need.
The coronavirus is currently compounding the crisis faced by more than 20,000 children and parents in Boston already teetering on the edge of homelessness or living in homeless shelters, cars, and emergency rooms.
FamilyAid Boston is doing everything we can to mitigate the effects of the current crisis on our nearly 2,000 clients. Our staff has delivered more than three tons of emergency supplies consisting of food, diapers, personal hygiene products, and cleaning supplies to approximately 1,200 children and parents who indicated to us that they didn’t have enough food and supplies to last even one week.
Our shelters remain staffed to provide emergency services and support families who are struggling with the impact of lost work and closed schools and daycare centers. Our facilities staff are continuously disinfecting and sanitizing all our shelters and housing units.
FamilyAid Boston social workers continue to have regular communication with our client families to stay informed of their specific situations, their health, and their food and housing needs.
More than ever, and in the most literal sense, FamilyAid Boston is about saving lives.
Thank you to our corporate, foundation, and organization partners who have stepped in to assist the homeless children and parents in their communities at this time of great need.
