Tackling Childhood Homelessness
New England Patriots’ Ja’Whaun Bentley Chooses FamilyAid Boston for My Cause My Cleats
Ja’Whaun Bentley of the New England Patriots has chosen FamilyAid Boston as his charity of choice for the National Football League’s 2019 My Cause My Cleats initiative.
As part of the collaboration between the NFL and its players, players represent hundreds of charitable organizations during Week 14 games by wearing cleats that represent their charitable interests and passions off the field.
The Patriots have 24 players participating in the campaign this year. Many players have personal connections to the causes they choose, including Bentley who has publicly shared his family’s experiences with homelessness.
“We are very honored that Mr. Bentley has chosen our organization for his cause,” said Larry Seamans, president of FamilyAid Boston. “We hope that this national attention to the growing crisis of childhood and family homelessness will result in additional resources and solutions to support our most vulnerable neighbors.”
In Week 14, The New England Patriots will play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, December 8, 2019. The last time these two teams met was during the 2019 AFC Championship game which put the Patriots on track to win their sixth Super Bowl.
