Get Involved
There are many ways to stand with children and parents facing homelessness and housing instability in Greater Boston, and every action matters. Whether you run 26.2 miles, walk two on a cold winter morning, share your voice with your legislator or show up with your company team for a day of service, you are helping ensure that no family in our community has to face homelessness alone.
Explore the ways you can make a difference below.
Group Volunteer Opportunities
Make a meaningful impact by volunteering with your coworkers, school, faith community or other organized group. FamilyAid offers opportunities for groups to support children and parents facing housing instability and homelessness through hands-on service projects and special volunteer events.
We’ll work with you to identify opportunities that align with your group’s size, interests and availability.
Ready to get involved? We’d love to hear from you.
Run 26.2 for FamilyAid
Every April, Team FamilyAid takes on 26.2 miles for the children and parents who need us most. As a charity partner of the Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America, we’re looking for runners who want every mile to mean something—raising funds that go directly toward homelessness prevention and two-generation support for families in Greater Boston.
The Winter Walk
At the annual Winter Walk, our community comes together in the peak of winter for a two-mile walk to raise awareness and critical funds for families experiencing homelessness in Greater Boston. It’s one of the most meaningful mornings of the year, and we’d love for you to be part of it.
Stay tuned for updates on how to register for Winter Walk 2027!
Building Better Futures
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year’s Building Better Futures and to everyone who supported FamilyAid from afar. Together, we celebrated the families we serve, honored this year’s Children’s Champion Awardees and reaffirmed our shared commitment to ending family homelessness in Greater Boston.
Stay tuned for details on next year’s Building Better Futures. We’ll update this page with date, location, and ticket information as soon as it’s available. In the meantime, feel free to reach out with any questions — or consider supporting FamilyAid’s work today.
Use Your Voice for Families Facing Homelessness
Every day, children and parents in Greater Boston are waiting for safe, stable housing — and policy decisions made in Massachusetts directly affect how quickly families can move from crisis to stability. Contacting your state legislator is one of the most effective ways you can stand up for families like the ones FamilyAid serves.
