To help an increasing number of families boarding in hospital ERs obtain shelter and a housing pathway, please contact your state legislator in support of current legislation to expand shelter and request the expansion of the state’s rental voucher program for homeless families.

In response to more than 400 families living in hotels and countless new arrivals boarding in our hospitals until shelter units become available, I’m calling to ask Representative/Senator __________ to support Governor Healey’s budget request to expand family shelters and support newly arrived children in our public schools.

Additionally, I ask that Representative/Senator __________ pursue additional funds to create a more humane approach to process and intake newly arrived children and parents – instead of hospital ERs – before they are eligible for state shelter and to expand the Mass Rental Voucher Program to provide housing pathways for sheltered families.
