Thirteen-year-old Sasha Kaplan was determined to raise funds for a mission close to her heart.

After researching nonprofits with her mom, Sasha landed on FamilyAid.  She felt passionate about helping families with children close to her own age and wanted to positively impact the local community.

A few weeks later, Sasha rolled up her sleeves and threw a lakeside, “Duck Race” fundraiser with support from family and friends. Participants virtually cheered on their favorite ducks, and helped Sasha raise $5,000 for FamilyAid. Wellington Management generously matched these contributions, bringing Sasha’s campaign to support homeless children and parents to  $10,000.

“Knowing that I’m going to impact many children and parents’ lives makes me feel good.  If I were in a struggling person’s shoes, I would want someone to do the same thing for me.  It makes me happy to be able to help families in need,” says Sasha.

When she’s not running major fundraisers to help others, Sasha enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with friends.  We thank Sasha for her thoughtfulness and generosity!  FamilyAid will continue serving hundreds of families with this support!
