Our Vision

To prevent family homelessness whenever possible — or reduce its harm if it can’t be avoided — through education and two-generation supports for children and parents that foster their long-term stability and well-being.

110+ Years

of Fighting for Families

Founded in 1916, FamilyAid has spent more than a century responding to the needs of children and parents experiencing housing instability and homelessness in Greater Boston. What began as an emergency response has evolved into one of the region’s most comprehensive, evidence-driven family stability agencies, recognized nationally for the depth and effectiveness of our approach. Today, FamilyAid is a two-generation agency addressing housing instability and homelessness while helping children and parents achieve lasting stability.

We believe the answer to family homelessness is not simply housing. It is investing in both children and parents simultaneously, providing the wraparound supports and resources they need to build a better future. That belief, grounded in decades of experience and validated by independent research, guides every program we run and every family we serve.

A National Leader in 2Gen

FamilyAid is one of only 15 organizations in the country selected for the Ascend at the Aspen Institute 2Gen Accelerator Community — the nation’s leading hub for two-generation policy and practice — a recognition that reflects our position at the forefront of this movement.
